Job Description and Qualifications
We are looking to immediately fill the Staff Accountant position in our Finance Department. The Staff Accountant is a key member of the Gravitas Ventures team reporting to the VP, Finance. In this position, you will have the opportunity to get exposure to a wide range of accounting functions. This is a hands-on position and requires a candidate who is excellent at multi-tasking and can work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Reports to: VP, Finance
Exemption Status: Exempt
Pay Rate: $60k - $70k if annualized DOE
Paid Time Off: Holidays, Vacation, Paid Sick Leave, Personal Days
Compensation: Full benefits package including 401(K) with match, medical, dental, vision and more
Work Location: We offer a flexible, hybrid setting where employees work both from home and onsite in Cleveland, OH.

Responsibilities Include
• Manage day-to-day cash application and collection activities
• Manage and maintain customer/vendor reporting and documentation
• Prepare general ledger journal entries
• Assist in the processing of royalties to filmmakers
• Assist with month-end close and data entry activities
• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Assist with external audits
• Review, document and suggest process improvements; enhance policies and procedures
• Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition in accordance with GAAP/IFRS
• Perform on-going reporting, analytical projects, and ad-hoc reporting as requested

Pre-requisites
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, minimum 2 years’ relevant experience.
• CPA/CMA is preferable.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel skills required.
• Experience with MS Dynamics Great Plains, QuickBooks or other small business accounting software preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with both internal and external customers.
• Well organized and able to work both independently and collaborate as part of a team.
• Able to efficiently manage multiple projects with accuracy and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented and a strong work ethic.
