Shout! Studios Elevates Publicity Head Tom Chen To SVP, Publicity

Shout! Studios has announced the promotion of Tom Chen to Senior Vice President of Publicity. The announcement was made today by Shout! Studios Executive Vice President Melissa Boag, to whom Chen reports.

In this elevated position, Chen takes on a broader role in shaping the Shout! Studios brand and enhancing public relations efforts and will continue to lead the publicity team. He works closely with Boag and the senior management team in guiding the publicity strategy to meet the ever-changing demands of the market and the growth of Shout! Studios.

Over the past 16 years, Chen has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication in heading up the Publicity department, overseeing corporate trade communications, media relations and publicity efforts for Shout! Studios and its broad spectrum of entertainment releases and new production ventures.

As part of the Shout! Studios executive team, he provides guidance on communication tactics and best practices for key initiatives. He and his team develop and implement strategies that promote and enhance the company’s corporate profile, multiple entertainment brands, awards campaigns, and top releases for Shout! Studios’ new films, original productions, animation, and pop culture TV and film libraries across multi-screens – theatrical, VOD, streaming entertainment, broadcast and home entertainment. Recently he orchestrated the news strategy for the company’s 20th Anniversary celebration and its transition to the name Shout! Studios, which marks a significant milestone for the organization. Notable campaigns he has led include acclaimed Shout! Studios original features like Old Henry, major releases such as What’s Love Got To Do With It and Language Lessons, and other multi-platform releases in various genres.

A seasoned entertainment executive with long-standing relationships with media, filmmakers, and industry organizations, Chen joined Shout! in 2007 and most recently served as VP of Publicity. Prior to Shout! Studios, Chen was the director of TV, film, and home entertainment at MPRM Communications.
