Shout! Studios, Blue Fox Entertainment, and Cinema Management Group Announce Film Distribution Deal to Highly Anticipated Animated Feature THE CANTERVILLE GHOST

Shout! Studios, a multi-platform media company, and Blue Fox Entertainment have jointly acquired North American rights to the new animated feature THE CANTERVILLE GHOST from Beverly Hills based Sales Agent, Cinema Management Group. Directed by Kim Burdon (Stressed Eric) and co-directed by Robert Chandler (The Amazing Maurice), THE CANTERVILLE GHOST is the modern reimagining of Oscar Wilde’s popular literary classic and boasts a winning voice cast of Stephen Fry (Wilde, The Hobbit), Hugh Laurie (House, Stuart Little), Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Bates Motel), Emily Carey (Wonder Woman, Game of Thrones - House of Dragons), David Harewood (Supergirl, Homeland), Meera Syal (Yesterday, Beautiful Thing), Miranda Hart (Spy, Call the Midwife) with Toby Jones (The Girl, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter, The Crown). Produced by Robert Chandler of Space Age Films, Gina Carter of Sprout Pictures, P. Jayakumar of Toonz Media Group, and Nadia Khamlichi and Martin Metz of Align, THE CANTERVILLE GHOST screened as part of the Official Selection in the 2023 Annecy International Animation Film Festival to great audience enthusiasm. The announcement was made today by Melissa Boag, Shout! Studios Executive Vice President, Kids & Family Entertainment, James Huntsman, founder of Blue Fox Entertainment, Edward Noeltner, President of Cinema Management Group, and Jordan Fields, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions & Originals at Shout! Studios.

Shout! Studios and Blue Fox Entertainment’s multi-year alliance provides both parties with all North American distribution rights, including theatrical, home entertainment (digital, video-on-demand, broadcast, and all packaged media) for cross-platform releases. Shout! Studios and Blue Fox Entertainment plan a strategic rollout of the feature across multiple platforms, beginning with a theatrical launch timed for Halloween this year.

The movie deal was negotiated by Melissa Boag, Jordan Fields, and Steven Katz, Shout’s Vice President of Business Affairs, Patrick Alach of Longo & Alach LLP for Blue Fox Entertainment, and Edward Noeltner on behalf of Cinema Management Group.

Join us on an Oscar Wilde adventure where... being scary is not what it used to be!

As the nineteenth century gives way to the twentieth and scientific invention brings forth new ways of traversing and seeing the world, a modern American family moves to their recently purchased country home, Canterville Chase in England, only to find it is haunted by a ghost. Effectively, Sir Simon de Canterville has been haunting the grounds of Canterville Chase successfully for over three hundred years, but he meets his match when he tries to scare out the new arrivals.
