Shout! Studios Acquires North American Rights To The Upcoming Thriller THE KILL ROOM Starring Uma Thurman, Joe Manganiello, And Samuel L. Jackson

Shout! Studios, the multi-platform entertainment distribution and production arm of Shout! Factory, has acquired North American rights to THE KILL ROOM from Yale Entertainment, following a competitive bidding situation at Cannes. Oscar®-nominee Uma Thurman and Academy Award® recipient actor Samuel L. Jackson have teamed up for the first time since Pulp Fiction for THE KILL ROOM, directed by Nicol Paone and written by Jonathan Jacobson.

Thurman (Kill Bill: Vol.1 and Kill Bill: Vol.2), Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike, Zack Snyder’s Justice League), and Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Die Hard with a Vengeance) lead a stellar cast of Debi Mazar (Younger, Goodfellas), Dree Hemingway (The Unicorn, Starlet), Amy Keum (Honor Society, Evil), Candy Buckley (Rare Objects, Bachelorette), Larry Pine (Succession, The Royal Tenenbaums), Jennifer Kim (Mozart in the Jungle, The Bourne Legacy), Matthew Maher (Air, Captain Marvel), Tom Pecinka (The Survivalist), and Alexander Sokovikov (For All Man Kind, The Americans).

The dark comedic thriller follows an art dealer (Thurman) who teams with a hitman (Manganiello) and his boss (Jackson) for a money laundering scheme that accidentally turns the hitman into an overnight Avant-Garde sensation, forcing the dealer to play the art world against the underworld.

THE KILL ROOM is produced by Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman, Anne Clements, William Rosenfeld, Bill Kenwright, Nicol Paone, Dannielle Thomas, Jason Weinberg, and Uma Thurman. Executive producers include Robert Kapp, Paul Wedgwood, David Gilbery, Naomi George, Nicholas Donnermeyer, Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, Phil Hunt, Compton Ross, Jason Zibarras, Ulf Ek, Richard Switzer, Ian Niles, BK Fulton, Jay Burnley, Cary Anderson, Kahil Dotay, Philip Shaltz, Bradley Pilz, Russ Posternak, Michael J. Rothstein, Jeffrey Tussi, Tyler W. Konney, Scott Levenson, and Jason Kringstein.

This highly anticipated feature film is a Yale Productions and Idiot Savant Pictures production in association with Such Content, BK Studios, Great Escape, Bondit Media Capital, Head Gear Films, Metrol Technology, Slated, Supernova Capital LLP, and Complex Corp.

Shout! Studios has secured exclusive distribution rights to THE KILL ROOM in the U.S. and Canada, including theatrical and home entertainment rights (digital, video-on-demand, broadcast, and digital media) for cross-platform releases. Shout! plans a strategic launch of this movie across all major entertainment platforms, beginning with a theatrical rollout this fall.

The Kill Room is a sharp, darkly comic evisceration of the art collecting scene, delivered with wily relish by Uma Thurman and director Nicol Paone. We’re confident this will play very well with audiences who like their entertainment both witty and visceral,” stated Jordan Fields, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Originals.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Shout! on this film. They’re incredibly passionate and have put together an aggressive release strategy for getting this very fun, very commercial film out to into the world,” stated Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman of Yale Entertainment.

The movie deal was negotiated by Shout’s Jordan Fields, Shout! Vice President of Business Affairs, Steven Katz, Shout! EVP of Business & Legal Affairs, David McIntosh, and Nick Donnermeyer of Great Escape, and Zev Raben and Elsa Ramo of Ramo Law, and CAA Media Finance on behalf of Yale Entertainment and the filmakers. Thurman is represented by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, Wolf Kasteler Public Relations, Jonathan Sanders & Co, and Hansen Jacobson Teller.
