Shoveling Sucks!

Ok.. Now I know why I miss living in an apartment complex. Over the course of the past 2 days, we got about 8 or so inches of snow. Don't get me wrong, I love winter... I think it can be so pretty with the snow on the trees and everything else. But shoveling is a bitch... Our driveway comfortable houses 6 cars and we have a municipal sidewalk that is our responsibility... Two words for a christmas gift if you need ideas... "Snow Blower"... I don't care what.. it's got to be better than shoveling... And what makes it worse, Karen can't help (at least I won't let her) since she is pregnant, and every single snow shovel is made for the average person... A lot shorter than me.. So i'm constantly hunched over straining my lower back.. At least I get a massage at work (for free) on Monday :)

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade owning my own home for anything else, but now I realize how nice it was to not have to worry about things like this when we had an apartment. Those of you who also have to deal with this know what I'm talking about. And John was in the same boat last year with Claire being pregnant over the winter also... So Stacey, you can't complain about living in an apartment now!! :) ha!

Watch me complain. I don't mind shovelling snow at all. Well unless I have a migraine. Then I can't even look at the snow, much less shovel it.

See, I used to have to shovel a driveway much bigger than yours. The top is a small parking lot. You can fit 5-7 cars up there pretty comfortably. When the 4-wheeler was working, I could plow with that, but I usually had to shovel. And we haven't even talked about the length of the driveway, and the fact that the township only plowed to the top of "their road", which did not touch my dad's driveway.

No, I won't shovel your driveway.

Good for you that you put that last line in there.. Cause you know I would have asked that next :) Anyway.. while walking around Wal-Mart last night, we were looking in the christmas section and ALL of the snow blowers that they had were either gone or had SOLD signs on them... Looks like I'm not the only one who hates shoveling!

i'm afraid i'll get fatter if i replace my shovel with a blower (or my push mower with a riding mower over the summer months).

it makes for good exercise.

Good exercise, yes.. good for the chiropracters/masage parlor's pocketbook, yes... What I would really like to do is get a riding mower and put a blade on the front of it for snow removal :)

Plus I can stand to gain the weight :)

Get a 4-wheeler. Those things rock and the make nice plows with the addition of the plow attachment (obviously) and some tire chains.

those of you who remember my parents house know what I used to have to shovel.. two driveways.. plus the sidewalks out to the sheds, the dog, and the well.. my stepdad finally got a snowblower right before the big blizard of 93(dunno if year is right) .. that was the best gift .. and alot of fun to play w/ too.. :)
